GNC Is Searching Again, This Time for a Media Agency

GNC, less than a year after hiring Carmichael Lynch to handle its creative and media business, is reviewing its media account, according to sources.

The marketer of vitamins, minerals and diet supplements spends about $30 million in media annually, according to Nielsen.

Pittsburgh-based GNC is expected to meet with media agency candidates during the first two weeks of January. Based on those meetings, GNC executives will narrow the field to a handful of finalists, sources said.

It was not immediately clear if the marketer was also reviewing its creative account as well. Execs at GNC and Carmichael Lynch did not return calls.

Before Carmichael Lynch, GNC's business was split between Arnell (creative) and Cramer-Krasselt (media.).
